11 Incredible Wedding Venues in Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado has an endless amount of stunning wedding venues, from ranches to wineries to historic buildings. The hardest part of planning a wedding here is honestly picking which of the amazing venues you want to spend your dream wedding in.

As a wedding photographer with over a decade of calling this lovely city home, I wanted to create a round-up of unique wedding venues in Northern Colorado you could choose from.

Let’s dive in!

Wedding Venues in Northern Colorado

Here are my favorite Northern Colorado and Fort Collins wedding venues:

Rist Canyon Inn

Rist Canyon Inn is an intimate and picturesque wedding venue just minutes away from Fort Collins. The venue is set on a 20-acre property, and it includes gorgeous mountain views, golden pastures, and old-growth cottonwood trees, all of which create a tranquil and beautiful backdrop for your wedding.

This is the wedding venue of your dreams if you’re looking for a venue with a modern, down-to-earth aesthetic, rustic charm, and a serene oasis setting. You can even plan to have a whole wedding weekend here, as this venue has lodging options available. On-site accommodations include the historic 1896 farmhouse and the White Pine Cabin.

Some standout features of this location include the 120-year-old farmhouse, split-rail fences, footbridges, horses, a serene creek, and one-of-a-kind antiques and original art.

Also, if you have out-of-town guests, Rist Canyon Inn is roughly an hour’s drive from Denver, Boulder, Longmont, and Cheyenne, making it a quick and easy car ride for your guests.

If you want an outdoor ceremony, you can have your ceremony at the spacious and elegant Bellevue Event Hall or the Ceremony Pasture.

The Ceremony Pasture offers 8 acres of pasture, different arches to choose from, a gorgeous view of the Front Range mountains, and the chance to take pictures with horses. This can be such an adorable addition to your wedding album and something you definitely won’t forget.

The venue even provides handmade custom benches for your guests to sit on, adding a unique, rustic feel to your ceremony.

If you want an indoor wedding venue, the Bellevue Event Hall offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It has expansive windows that overlook two courtyards. The hall also has modern chandeliers, which were crafted as an exclusive Northern Colorado art piece.

Stove Prairie Ranch

Stove Prairie Ranch has a rich history dating back to 1896, and you’ll find it 15 miles west of Fort Collins, nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. You’ll find historic stone buildings and a variety of unique photographic settings, including their gazebo, amphitheater, or meadow.

This location has 500 acres that include panoramic mountain views, meadows, and rocky outcrops. Stove Prairie Ranch exudes rustic elegance, and natural beauty, and creates a timeless ambiance. It’s perfect for either an intimate or lavish celebration.

You have multiple indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from for your wedding and reception, including a romantic, octagonal stone gazebo complete with an antler chandelier, surrounded by green meadows and mountains. You can also choose the natural rock amphitheater nestled between the mountain and the forest.

For your reception, your options include a modern ranch-style arena and stables, a stone terrace with a fountain and market lights, and an outdoor corral with stunning mountain views.

Lory State Park

Lory State Park is a wonderland filled with mountain terrain, trails, and an abundance of natural beauty. The park is next to the Horsetooth Reservoir outside of Fort Collins.

Three locations within the park can be rented for weddings: Soldier Canyon (100+ people), Timber (50 people), and Eltuck (40 people). The rental price ranges from $75 – $300 depending on which location you choose and which day of the week you get married.

Your celebration here doesn’t have to end after you say “I do” – this location is an ideal spot for adventure. Nestled near the water and the foothills, it offers you and your partner endless opportunities to explore together, from hiking to mountain biking to horseback riding to paddleboarding and more.

Plus, the Soldier Canyon Pavillion includes a covered table area, charcoal grills, a covered stage, and electricity—it’s a fantastic spot for a pre-or post-wedding gathering.

What makes this venue even more romantic is that it’s a charming vintage manor with whimsical coloring and gorgeous gardens.

You and your partner can choose from a variety of ceremony and reception sites, including an enchanting garden gazebo or a modern reception pavilion framed by vintage details.

A unique feature of this venue that I adore is that at the end of your celebration, you and your partner will place a personalized brick with your name and wedding date on the grounds to create a lasting memory of your day.
