Rist Canyon Inn Wedding

If you’ve been searching for your dream wedding venue in Colorado and know that you want a venue that feels truly one-of-a-kind and is both rustic and refined, then I know just the spot—Rist Canyon Inn. I had the chance to capture Jon and Makayla’s fall wedding here, and I loved every moment I was there.  Let’s dive into more about Rist Canyon Inn and check out some of the incredible highlights from Jon and Makayla’s wedding to decide if this is the perfect wedding venue for you.

Rist Canyon Inn

Rist Canyon Inn is an intimate and picturesque wedding venue minutes away from Fort Collins. It offers mountains, golden pastures, and old-growth cottonwood trees as your backdrop. The venue also has a 120-year-old farmhouse, split-rail fences, footbridges, a team of horses, and a tranquil creek.

The venue accommodates up to 100 guests, making it ideal if you want a private, smaller ceremony and want to spend more time with your guests. Which let’s be real, who doesn’t want to actually enjoy time with the people they chose to celebrate such an important day with?

This is the wedding venue of your dreams if you’re looking for a venue with a modern, down-to-earth aesthetic, a serene oasis setting, verdant courtyards, lush pastures, breathtaking spots for your pictures, and so much more. You can also have a whole wedding weekend here as this venue has lodging options available.

I think this is really underrated when it comes to wedding venues. Not only does it make it so much easier for you and your wedding parties to stay right at the venue the night before, but it can also make for some incredible memories.

Venues To Choose From

You can choose to have your ceremony at the spacious and elegant Bellevue Event Hall or at the Ceremony Pasture if you want to have an outdoor ceremony.

The Ceremony Pasture offers you 8 acres of pasture, different arches to choose from, a gorgeous view of the Front Range mountains, and the chance to take pictures with horses. This can be such an adorable addition to your wedding album and something you definitely won’t forget. The venue even provides you with handmade custom benches for your guests to sit on adding a unique, rustic feel to your ceremony.

If you want an indoor wedding venue, the Bellevue Event Hall offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It has expansive windows that overlook two courtyards. The hall also has modern chandeliers and was crafted as an exclusive Northern Colorado art piece.

Jon and Makayla had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Ceremony Pasture and then a reception inside the Bellevue Event Hall.

Jon and Makayla’s Fall Wedding at Rist Canyon Inn

Jon and Makayla had a beautiful fall wedding at Rist Canyon Inn. They chose this venue because they loved the historic farmhouse and the slow-paced, laid-back vibes it offers. They both knew they wanted to have a wedding that was fun, relaxing, and where everyone felt welcome, which made Rist Canyon Inn the perfect place.

On the day of their wedding, Jon and Makayla opted for a first touch instead of a first look. If a first look isn’t your style – a first touch is a great alternative. It still allows you to have an intimate, private moment and a chance to spend time with your partner before your ceremony – but without actually seeing them.

During their first touch, Jon and Makayla stood back to back and read letters to each other. Exchanging small gifts (such as a bridal boudoir book) or reading letters to each other is a great way to make a first touch even more special.

Jon and Makayla had their entire wedding party sign as witnesses on their marriage license which was a super fun and unique idea. This may not be possible in all states buuuut if you are in Colorado, this is such a great way to make your marriage license even more special.

Guests played yard games during cocktail hour and were greeted with a champagne wall as they entered the reception space for dinner. Jon and Makayla’s day was full of laughter, dancing, and love, and we couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous Colorado fall day or a more magical location to celebrate!
