Reproductive Rights Resources

On June 24th, 2022, the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. This historic decision revokes the constitutional right to an abortion, which in turn caused a cascading series of laws to be passed at the state level banning abortions at various stages.

This decision will have widespread, potentially life-threatening impacts to people with uteruses across the country and will disproportionately impact people with uteruses that are also BIPOC or in poverty. It also creates a precedent and slippery slope to revoke other federally protected rights, such as the use of contraception and same-sex rights.

I firmly believe that each person has the right to choose what happens to their body. You cannot be forced to donate blood. You cannot be forced to donate organs, even in death, even if it would save another’s life. And you should not be forced to give birth.

There are so many possible reasons why someone would have an abortion. And it’s none of my business–or yours–what that reason is. It’s between them, their medical professional, their trusted confidants, and perhaps even their God or other deities.

While I know this has nothing to do with photography, I’ve created a short list of a few different websites that may provide some education and help to those seeking it. This list is in no way comprehensive, so please fee free to reach out to me if I need to make corrections or if new information has become available. Click the links below to learn more.
